Heard County is still undefeated this season after their match against Bowdon on Friday, but Bowdon came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Braves came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 29-28 W against the Red Devils. This was payback for the Braves, who suffered a 35-21 loss the last time these two teams met.

A big part of Heard County's win came down to the chemistry between Ethan Tisdale and his top target Darience Coleman. Tisdale rushed for 75 yards and four TDs while Coleman gained 202 total yards. The dominant performance also gave Coleman a new career-high in receiving yards (42).

Bowdon's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of K.K. Patterson, who rushed for 67 yards and four touchdowns, and Kaiden Prothro, who gained 190 total yards.

Heard County's record now sits at 4-0. As for Bowdon, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-2 record.

Heard County and Bowdon will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Braves see the field they'll take on Haralson County at 7:30 p.m. on the 26th. As for Bowdon, their break will end when they face Booker T. Washington at 7:30 p.m. on the 26th.
