Softball Recap: Seaside Comes Up Short

Seaside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 16-5 to the Estacada Rangers. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Seaside's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Estacada, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.

Seaside will face off against Astoria at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Seagulls' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Fishermen have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Estacada, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-1 win against Junction City on the 11th.
