Softball Recap: Dupo Victorious

Dupo lost to Belleville West back in March of 2025, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Tigers had just enough and edged out the Maroons 5-4.

Addison Thompson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one double, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kylie Kloess, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Keara Prater, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

The win got Dupo back to even at 3-3. As for Belleville West, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Dupo will challenge Red Bud at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Musketeers have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season. As for Belleville West, they will take on Mascoutah at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Maroons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Indians have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season.
