Baseball Recap: Cosumnes Oaks Beats Sheldon for Their Fifth Straight Win

Cosumnes Oaks won the last time they faced Sheldon and things went their way on Friday too. Cosumnes Oaks was the clear victor by a 9-2 margin over Sheldon. The Wolfpack might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by seven runs or more this season.

Trent Shelp looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Cosumnes Oaks got a big performance out of Aaron Jeremic, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4. Those three stolen bases gave Jeremic a new career-high. Massimo Jimenez also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

The win (which was Cosumnes Oaks' fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Sheldon, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cosumnes Oaks will challenge Burbank at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Sheldon, they will take on Franklin at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Franklin will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Sheldon surely won't give up without a fight.
