            Baseball Preview: Bishop Brossart Mustangs vs. Mason County Royals        
        
		
        
        
            The Bishop Brossart Mustangs are taking a road trip to  take on the Mason County Royals  at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday. Given that  the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this  match.
Bishop Brossart fought the good fight in their extra-innings  contest against Montgomery County  on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took  an  11-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indians. One positive for the Mustangs, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
 Keagen Gulley put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he  pitched three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Gulley was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances with three  RBI and one  double. What's more,  he posted two  hits, the most he's  had since back in April of 2024.
 In other batting news,  Ben Volmer made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  went a perfect 1-for-1 with one  home run and two  RBI. That's the most  RBI  he has posted since back in April of 2024.  Luke Neltner also deserves some recognition as  he  scored his first  run of the season.
 Even though they lost, Bishop Brossart  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 12  hits. That's the most  hits they've managed all season.
 Meanwhile, Mason County didn't have quite enough to beat Scott on Friday and fell  3-1. The Royals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Mason County now  has a losing record of 1-2. As for Bishop Brossart, their record now sits at 2-2.
 Bishop Brossart suffered a grim  16-3 defeat to Mason County  when the teams last played  back in March of 2024. Can Bishop Brossart avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
