Preview: Bowdon Red Devils vs. Greene County Tigers

The Bowdon Red Devils will square off against the Greene County Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Bowdon's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last nine games.

With a playoff game on the line, Bowdon rose to the challenge on Friday. They didn't even let Taylor County onto the board and left with a 56-0 win. The result was nothing new for Bowdon, who have now won nine matches by 22 points or more so far this season.

Bowdon relied on the efforts of Jordan Beasley, who gained 156 total yards and three touchdowns, and Kyler Mcgrinn, who rushed for 95 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries. Mcgrinn has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Devan Powell, who rushed for 50 yards and a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Greene County stacked a seventh blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They blew past Hancock Central, posting a 42-0 win on the road. Given Greene County's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 154th, while Hancock Central is ranked 398th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Greene County found their leader in underclassman Travez Gibson, who rushed for 165 yards while picking up 7.2 yards per carry.

Bowdon has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 9-2 record. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 33.33 points. As for Greene County, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-1.
