Basketball Recap: Floyd Central Highlanders vs. Bedford North Lawrence Stars
The Floyd Central Highlanders won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Thursday. They were the victim of a rough 68-46 defeat at the hands of Bedford North Lawrence. Floyd Central was down 57-36 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Despite the loss, Floyd Central still got an impressive performance from Sam Higgins, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Cardwell, who scored eight points.
Floyd Central's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Bedford North Lawrence, their win bumped their record up to 11-5.
Floyd Central will head out on the road to face off against the Trojans at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Center Grove is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 65.1 points per game this season. As for Bedford North Lawrence, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Athenians at 1:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Crawfordsville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 296th, while the Stars are ranked 69th).
