Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Troy Smither and Zech Gartrelle Lead Faith Baptist to Victory

Faith Baptist won the last time they faced Mid-Michigan HomeSchoolers and things went their way on Monday too. The Faith Baptist Eagle came out on top against the Mid-Michigan HomeSchoolers Mustangs by a score of 66-59. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagle.

Faith Baptist was led to victory by Zech Gartrelle and Troy Smither. Gartrelle posted 25 points, while Smither had 20 points. Gartrelle's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Mack, who scored 12 points.

Mid-Michigan HomeSchoolers lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Lucas Taylor, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 13 points and six boards. Brendan Redmond was another key player, going 5 for 11 en route to 10 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists.

Faith Baptist's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Mid-Michigan HomeSchoolers, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-7.
