Basketball Game Preview: St. Francis Spartans vs. Trinity Blazers

St. Francis hasn't had much luck against Trinity recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The St. Francis Spartans will challenge the Trinity Blazers at 5:30 p.m.

St. Francis is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Saturday. They fell 54-43 to Glenbard West. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 315th, while the Hilltoppers are ranked 78th).

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Trinity against Oak Park-River Forest on Wednesday as the team secured a 51-19 victory.

Trinity has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.2 points per game. As for St. Francis, their loss dropped their record down to 8-18.

Things could have been worse for St. Francis, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 57-39 loss to Trinity when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can St. Francis avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
