Softball Recap: Palmer Trinity Comes Up Short

Palmer Trinity has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.56 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They came up short against the Key West Conchs, falling 12-2. If the Falcons were looking for revenge after losing 14-3 to the Conchs when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Kinsey Cerda was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last eight games she's played. Dani Mendoza also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Palmer Trinity's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Key West, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.

While Palmer Trinity had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
