Basketball Recap: Battle Mountain Takes a Loss

Battle Mountain played a tough match on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 81-43 loss at the hands of the Evergreen Cougars. The defeat continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now lost three in a row.

Despite the loss, Battle Mountain still got an impressive performance from Jackson Wansley, who posted seven points. Sawyer WilliS was another key player, putting up six points.

Evergreen's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eli Beeson, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 19 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Lukas Mccanna, who went 7 of 8 on his way to 15 points and six rebounds.

Battle Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Evergreen, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Battle Mountain wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 42-39 win against Vail Mountain on the 14th. As for Evergreen, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-50 defeat against Ponderosa on the 14th.
