Football Game Preview: Santa Fe Christian Eagles vs. Army-Navy Warriors

For the first time this season, Santa Fe Christian will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will host the Army-Navy Warriors at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Army-Navy will be up against a hot Santa Fe Christian team: the squad just extended their winning streak to six. The Eagles took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 35-0 win over Escondido Charter. The Eagles' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Joshua Husmann went supernova, rushing for 109 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 65 yards. Another player making a difference was Jairus Bolden, who picked up 42 receiving yards and two scores.

Meanwhile, Army-Navy humbled La Jolla Country Day with a 37-9 victory.

Army-Navy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Ryke Broxon, Jacob Eastley, Lincoln Brunson, and Royce Fielder picked up one apiece. Fielder also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with six.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Army-Navy, adding 13 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Landon Schrom, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Army-Navy's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Santa Fe Christian, their win bumped their record up to 6-0.

Everything came up roses for Santa Fe Christian against Army-Navy when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 44-14 victory. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
