North Middlesex Regional and Notre Dame Academy squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but North Middlesex Regional had to settle for second. They fell 3-1 to the Rebels. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Notre Dame Academy got the win, North Middlesex Regional sure made them earn it: two sets took extra rallies. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-20, 26-28, 27-25.

Addison Cutting was nothing short of spectacular for Notre Dame Academy: she had 32 digs and four aces. Cutting has been hot for a while, having posted two or more aces the last 13 times she's played.

North Middlesex Regional's loss dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Notre Dame Academy, they pushed their record up to 18-1 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.
