Volleyball Preview: Morgantown Mohigans vs. Shady Spring Tigers
The Morgantown Mohigans are on the road again on Saturday to play the Shady Spring Tigers at 10:00 a.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Morgantown is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of West Virginia's top teams: Oak Glen, who was ranked sixth in their home state at the time (Morgantown was ranked second). Morgantown came out on top in a nail-biter against Oak Glen on Tuesday, sneaking past 2-1.
Morgantown got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-9, 31-29.
Meanwhile, Shady Spring sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over James Monroe on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.
Shady Spring was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-22, 16-25, 25-18, 15-12.
