Softball Recap: Somerset Academy Wins Going Away Against Cypress Bay

Somerset Academy not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 19th (when they won 10-0). They blew past the Cypress Bay Lightning 11-4. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Panthers also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Kiera Carbone made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Katie Bailey was incredible, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Kelsey Gonzalez was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Somerset Academy's win bumped their record up to 9-10-1. As for Cypress Bay, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Somerset Academy has already played their next game, a 15-7 victory against Calvary Christian Academy on the 16th. Cypress Bay does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
