Softball Recap: Olympia Bears vs. Bethel Bison
Olympia's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Bethel Bison an 11-0 shutout. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Bison recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.
Ava Bautista made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single earned run, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Katelyn Pearson, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season. Aliyah Eberle was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
