Baseball Game Preview: Moreno Valley Vikings vs. Orange Vista Coyotes

For the second straight game, Moreno Valley will face off against Orange Vista. The Vikings will be playing at home against the Coyotes at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Moreno Valley 2.9, Orange Vista 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Moreno Valley's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 win over Orange Vista. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Coyotes recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Moreno Valley saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was M. Ramirez, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Ramirez has become a key player for the Vikings: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 4-5 otherwise.

Moreno Valley pushed their record up to 7-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.33 runs across that stretch. As for Orange Vista, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.
