Basketball Recap: Goddard Takes a Loss

Goddard came up into this matchup off a tough 28-point loss last Saturday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Gadsden Panthers by a score of 47-44 on Thursday. The Rockets' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Despite the loss, Goddard still got an impressive performance from Joaquin Sanchez, who posted 14 points. Those 14 points gave Sanchez a new career-high. Isaiah Mestas was another key player, putting up seven points.

Goddard's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Gadsden, their win ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-6.

Goddard wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 48-46 victory against Valencia on the 3rd. As for Gadsden, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Silver at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Silver's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six contests.
