Football Game Preview: Perkins Pirates vs. Galion Tigers

The Perkins Pirates will venture away from home to take on the Galion Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Perkins comes in on eight and Galion on seven.

Perkins is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Napoleon 31-0. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by 29 points or more this season.

Blake Parker continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, picking up 158 receiving yards and one TD. That's the most receiving yards he has posted since back in September.

Perkins didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kaden Legando and Bryce Davie.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Galion). They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 54-13 win over Cloverleaf. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 36th, while the Colts are ranked 327th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Perkins better keep an eye on Ayden Schmit. He was instrumental in Galion's win, rushing for 106 yards and one score on only five carries.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Galion proved: they limited Cloverleaf to a paltry 2.3 yards per carry. That's the most yards per carry they've managed all season.

Perkins' record now sits at 9-3. As for Galion, their record is now 10-1.
