Volleyball Recap: Spanish River Takes a Loss

After flying high against Santaluces last Tuesday, Spanish River came back down to earth. The Sharks lost 3-0 to the Boca Raton Bobcats on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Sharks of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Spanish River was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Boca Raton work for it, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 29-27, 25-14.

Spanish River has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Boca Raton, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Spanish River will face off against Sports Leadership & Management at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Sharks are facing the Giants at the right time seeing as the Giants are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Boca Raton, they will host Cardinal Gibbons at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
