Basketball Recap: Bayshore Christian Comes Up Short

Bayshore Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 57-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Palm Harbor University Hurricanes.

Despite the defeat, Bayshore Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tylan Lewis posted 28 points. That was a full 60.9% of Bayshore Christian's points, marking the seventh time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Will Stayte, who put up 13 points.

Palm Harbor University's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ayden Wallace, who went 7 for 15 en route to 18 points and six boards. The dominant performance also gave Wallace a new career-high in assists (three). Curtis George was another key player, putting up eight points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Bayshore Christian's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Palm Harbor University, they moved to 6-13 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Bayshore Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-21 win against The Classical Academy of Sarasota on the 20th. Palm Harbor University has also already played their next matchup, a 75-47 victory against Tarpon Springs on the 21st.
