Softball Recap: WF West Victorious

WF West won the last time they faced Columbia River and things went their way on Thursday too. The WF West Bearcats walked away with a 16-12 win over the Columbia River Rapids. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bearcats.

Taylor Tobin made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave her a new career-low. She was even better at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Addison Froschauer and Avalon Myers did most of the damage at the plate: Froschauer went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Myers got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave Myers a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kenley Fragner, who scored two runs while going 1-for-5.

WF West's record now sits at 2-0.

Coming up, WF West will be playing at home against Camas at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Columbia River, they will venture away from home to take on La Center at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
