Baseball Recap: Kofa Takes a Loss

Kofa was the 7-1 winner over San Luis when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Kings took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sidewinders on Tuesday.

Kofa got a good showing from Jesus Villa, who tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Villa has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jose Castro made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

Kofa's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for San Luis, they moved to 9-11 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

While Kofa had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
