It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Flint Hill had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the St. James Saints 6-5. Winning may never get old, but Flint Hill sure is getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Michael Morgan tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive pitching appearances.
At the plate, Flint Hill let Vincenzo Fiorino and Ben Meeks loose on the outfield. Fiorino went 1-for-3 with three RBI and a double, while Meeks scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Meeks is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now stolen at least one in the last six games he's played.
Flint Hill pushed their record up to 10-12 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home. As for St. James, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
