Volleyball Recap: Newport Comes Up Short

After flying high against North Marion on Tuesday, Newport came back down to earth. The Cubs fell just short of the Sweet Home Huskies by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Cubs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Huskies apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Newport dropped their record down to 2-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Sweet Home, the win snapped their losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 8-6 record.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Newport is set to take on their familiar foe Stayton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Sweet Home will square off against rival North Marion at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
