Basketball Recap: Horton Takes a Loss

Horton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 55-51 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pleasant Ridge Rams. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Rams this season, with their most recent loss being a 79-71 defeat last Friday.

Leading Pleasant Ridge to victory were Hudson Hockett and Isaiah Kime. Hockett dropped a double-double with 17 points and 11 boards, while Kime shot 50% from the field to rack up 19 points and eight rebounds. Kime continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dawson Hockett, who posted six points and 11 rebounds.

Horton's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Pleasant Ridge, their record is now 4-11.

Coming up, Horton will head out on the road to square off against Riverside [Wathena/Elwood] on Monday. As for Pleasant Ridge, they and Maranatha Christian Academy will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played.
