If Gordon-Rushville wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Chadron, they should've done a better job of containing Haiven Catches. The Cardinals claimed a resounding 61-34 win over the Mustangs thanks in part to Catches, who shot 67% from the field on his way to 17 points. He is on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games he's played.

Gordon-Rushville's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Braylon Holston, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds, and Daniel Martins, who posted nine points and five boards.

The victory got Chadron back to even at 8-8. As for Gordon-Rushville, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Looking ahead, Chadron will be taking part in a tournament against Gering at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Cardinals' defense better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 53.3 points per game this season. As for Gordon-Rushville, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-34 win against Oelrichs on the 27th.
