Softball Recap: Northwest Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

Northwest came out on top against Lumen Christi Catholic on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fifth inning. The Mounties took their contest against the Titans 7-2. The win continues a trend for the Mounties in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won five in a row.

Lucy Bivens (2025) made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Northwest let Ari Good (2025) and Ava Golightly (2025) run wild. Good (2025) went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI, while Golightly (2025) went 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple. That triple marked the first that Golightly (2025) has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Casey Jahr (2027), who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Northwest's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Lumen Christi Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwest will challenge Coldwater at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lumen Christi Catholic, they will take on Marian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
