Boswell dropped their record down to 27-5 on Monday, which also ended the team's eight-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Benbrook Bobcats by a score of 2-0. The Pioneers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bobcats earlier this season, when they won 6-0.

As for Benbrook, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games.

For Benbrook's part, Jax Stockton looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Stockton has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Benbrook saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evan Smith, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base. That's the most hits Smith has posted since back in March.

Boswell wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 5-4 loss against Byron Nelson on the 1st. As for Benbrook, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 12-2 victory against Eagle Mountain on the 1st.
