Softball Recap: West Babylon Eagles vs. West Islip Lions
West Babylon let West Islip stack five runs on them in the sixth inning on Friday but luckily West Babylon prevailed anyway. The Eagles came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lions, sneaking past 9-8. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-2 back in April.
Storm Romano and Sarah Caltabiano did most of the damage at the plate: Romano went 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Caltabiano went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That triple marked the first that Romano has hit this season. Daniella Nocera was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs.
West Babylon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .538. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
