Football Recap: Harvard Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Harvard played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Southwest Roughriders and fell 69-12. The Cardinals were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 56-6.

Harvard's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Pedro Perez, who picked up 63 receiving yards and one score, and Blayden Porter, who rushed for 48 yards and one TD. Perez showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 63 yards.

Even if they lost, Harvard's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. In that department, Cohen Reutzel was the leader with two.

Houston Billeter had an outrageously good game for Southwest as he rushed for 75 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also threw for 49 yards and a pair of TDs. Those 75 rushing yards gave Billeter a new career-high.

Harvard's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Harvard will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Hampton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Southwest, they will square off against Arthur County at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
