Basketball Recap: Maret Takes Down Ranked Mt. Zion Prep Academy Blue

Maret is ranked highly in their home state and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Mt. Zion Prep Academy Blue. The Maret Frogs came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mt. Zion Prep Academy Blue Warriors, sneaking past 49-47.

It was another big night for Kennedy Austin, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds. The game was her fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of London Liley, who went 8 of 15 on her way to 20 points and five boards.

Maret's win bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Mt. Zion Prep Academy Blue, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-6 record this season.

Maret will host St. Andrew's Episcopal at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Maret is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55 points per game this season. Mt. Zion Prep Academy Blue has already played their next contest (against NC GBB Academy National), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
