Baseball Recap: Willard Crimson Flashes vs. Plymouth Big Red
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Willard). They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Plymouth Big Red on Friday. The Crimson Flashes have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Big Red, too.

Elijah Reed made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. Those hits were his first of the season.
Reed wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Adler Ames, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Grant Poston was another, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
Willard's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Plymouth, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Willard will welcome Seneca East at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Plymouth, they will face off against South Central at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. This will be the Big Red's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
