Basketball Game Preview: Madison County Mountaineers vs. Page County Panthers

Madison County hasn't had much luck against Page County recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Madison County Mountaineers will be home for the holidays to greet the Page County Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Madison County has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

On Wednesday, Madison County might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Orange County an easy 71-46 victory. While losing is never fun, the Mountaineers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while the Fighting Hornets are ranked 108th).

Meanwhile, Page County had to suffer through a 69-27 loss at the hands of East Rockingham. The matchup marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Page County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for Madison County, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
