Volleyball Recap: Hernando Takes a Loss

Hernando and Oxford squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Hernando had to settle for second. They lost 3-0 to the Chargers. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

While Hernando was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-12, 25-10.

Oxford found their leader in sophomore Grace Kiffin, who had ten digs and six aces. With that strong performance, Kiffin is now averaging an impressive 2.2 aces per game.

Hernando has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 19-17 record this season. As for Oxford, their record is now 26-10.

Hernando does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Oxford, they will square off against Lewisburg at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
