 The team  relied heavily on  Vince Villegas, who  scored three  runs and  stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was  Nash Hornberger, who  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in all three of his plate appearances.
 Meanwhile, Nimitz has not done well against Richardson recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Friday. Nimitz had just enough and edged Richardson out  3-2.
 Pearce is  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 9-13 record  this season. As for Nimitz, their victory was  their fourth straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 12-4-1.
