Recap: Bridges Prep Buccaneers vs. Bamberg-Ehrhardt Red Raiders
The Bridges Prep Buccaneers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 77-28 loss at the hands of Bamberg-Ehrhardt. Bridges Prep has not had much luck with the Red Raiders recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Bamberg-Ehrhardt got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mh'Chiya Johnson out in front who scored 28 points along with two steals. Johnson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times she's played. Raven Brown was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten steals.
Bridges Prep has not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season. As for Bamberg-Ehrhardt, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bridges Prep will square off against the Yellow Jackets at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Branchville comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 14 points in their last ten games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Bamberg-Ehrhardt, they will head out on the road to square off against the Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Whale Branch will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 238th, while the Red Raiders are ranked 105th).
