Recap: Weeki Wachee Hornets vs. The Villages Charter Buffalo
The Weeki Wachee Hornets have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They received a tough blow on Thursday as they fell 51-35 to The Villages Charter. Weeki Wachee lost against The Villages Charter in their previous head to head back in January of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 69-35 score last time.
Weeki Wachee lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Joelys Rodriguez, who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Nevaeh Clark, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Weeki Wachee has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-6 record this season. As for The Villages Charter, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Weeki Wachee will take on Springstead at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Villages Charter won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Mount Dora Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 12th. Mount Dora Christian Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
