Basketball Recap: Legion Preparatory Academy's Loss Ends Nine-Game Winning Streak on the Road

On Tuesday, Legion Preparatory Academy faced Boswell in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Legion Preparatory Academy Bulldogs fell 57-49 to the Boswell Pioneers.

Legion Preparatory Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mari Dangerfield, who posted 17 points. Those 17 points gave Dangerfield a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamora Pruitt, who put up 12 points.

Boswell got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Camille Williams out in front who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. With that strong performance, Williams is now averaging an impressive 8.1 boards per game. Salena Carrasco was another key player, putting up 15 points and five rebounds.

Legion Preparatory Academy's loss ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 11-5. As for Boswell, they pushed their record up to 17-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Legion Preparatory Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 85-65 victory against PHH Prep National on the 13th. As for Boswell, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 69-35 win against Weatherford on the 13th.
