Basketball Recap: Heritage Takes a Loss

Heritage lost against Rolesville two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Heritage Huskies took a hard 50-34 fall against the Rolesville Rams. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 216th, while the Rams are ranked 32nd).

Caitlyn Jones continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Rolesville, going 6 for 14 on her way to 12 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals. Rolesville is undefeated when Jones posts five or more steals, but 8-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Kayla Bush, who posted four points along with seven boards and three steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Heritage and nudges their season record down to 10-12. As for Rolesville, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-9.

Coming up, Heritage will square off against Wakefield at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Wakefield will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Heritage surely won't give up without a fight. As for Rolesville, they will take on Wake Forest at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Rolesville is facing Wake Forest at the right time seeing as Wake Forest is stuck on a 13-game losing streak.
