Basketball Recap: Lauren Smith Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Navarro

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Bastrop, Crockett was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Navarro Vikings with a sharp 63-41 win. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 20 points or more this season.

Crockett's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lauren Smith, who posted 25 points in addition to seven boards and seven steals. With that strong performance, Smith is now averaging an impressive 15.4 points per game. Another player making a difference was Lola Osaigbovo, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 21 boards.

Crockett smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 28 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in eight consecutive matchups.

Crockett has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season. As for Navarro, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.

Crockett will head out to face off against Liberal Arts & Science Academy - Austin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Navarro, they will host Anderson at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Anderson will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Navarro surely won't give up without a fight.
