Basketball Recap: Bryan County Comes Up Short

Bryan County suffered their biggest loss since December 3, 2024 on Tuesday. They were beaten by the McIntosh County Academy Buccaneers 71-43. The defeat continues a trend for the Redskins in their matchups with the Buccaneers: they've now lost four in a row.

Craig Battle was his usual excellent self, going 8 for 15 on his way to 21 points in addition to six assists and five rebounds for McIntosh County Academy. Another player making a difference was Mj Quarterman, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards.

Bryan County's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-6. As for McIntosh County Academy, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3.

Bryan County has already played their next matchup (against Savannah Classical Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. McIntosh County Academy will challenge Groves at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. McIntosh County Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 67.4 points per game this season.
