Basketball Recap: Seaholm Comes Up Short

Seaholm was the 55-49 winner over Troy when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Seaholm Maples fell just short of the Troy Colts by a score of 35-33 on Tuesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Maples came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while the Colts are ranked 348th).

This is the second loss in a row for Seaholm and nudges their season record down to 11-7. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.5 points. As for Troy, their win bumped their record up to 6-10.

Looking ahead, Seaholm will square off against Rochester at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rochester will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something Seaholm surely won't give up without a fight. As for Troy, they will host Groves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
