Albany Academy for Boys put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down the North Cobb Christian Eagles 61-45. Given the Cadets' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked fifth in New York, while the Eagles are ranked 28th in Georgia), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

North Cobb Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Xavier Butler, who posted 13 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Wiseman, who put up ten points.

Albany Academy for Boys' victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for North Cobb Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-3.

Albany Academy for Boys will be playing at home against Christian Brothers Academy at 3:00 p.m. on January 5, 2025. North Cobb Christian and Sprayberry will round out the year against one another at at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
