Basketball Recap: Terrell Comes Up Short

Terrell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 57-41 to the Crandall Pirates. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1164th, while the Pirates are ranked 473rd).

Crandall found their leader in sophomore Dylan Franklin, who went 11 for 17 en route to 24 points. Franklin's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Lebron Mckelvy, who went 8 of 14 on his way to 16 points and four steals.

Terrell's loss dropped their record down to 9-18. As for Crandall, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-15.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Terrell Tigers duke it out with the Ennis Lions at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Crandall, they will face off against Midlothian Heritage at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Crandall is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.6 points per game this season.
