Basketball Game Preview: Sumter Gamecocks vs. Westwood Redhawks

Two dominant guards in Araina Ross and Aneya Britt are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Sumter Gamecocks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Westwood Redhawks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Friday, Sumter ended up a good deal behind Ridge View and lost 58-42. The Gamecocks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Westwood). They took their match on Friday with ease, bagging a 67-25 win over West Florence. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-8.

Westwood's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-11. As for Sumter, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.

Everything came up roses for Sumter against Westwood in their previous matchup back in November of 2023, as the team secured a 62-21 win. Will Sumter repeat their success, or does Westwood have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
