Basketball Recap: Palmetto Scholars Academy Takes a Loss

Palmetto Scholars Academy lost against Baptist Hill back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Palmetto Scholars Academy Phoenix had to suffer through a 81-26 loss at the hands of the Baptist Hill Bobcats.

Baptist Hill's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaden Douglas led the charge by dropping a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Martrell Wright was another key player, going 5 for 6 on his way to 12 points in addition to seven assists and five boards.

Palmetto Scholars Academy's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-10. As for Baptist Hill, their victory bumped their record up to 9-11.

Palmetto Scholars Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Bethune-Bowman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Baptist Hill, they will square off against Scott's Branch at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
