Basketball Recap: Harnett Central Takes a Loss

Harnett Central lost against Triton back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Harnett Central Trojans had to suffer through a 76-44 loss at the hands of the Triton Hawks. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Harnett Central still got an impressive performance from Rylan Beasley, who went 7 of 8 en route to 14 points and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Kemaury Haywood, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 10 points.

It was another big night for Ro'Mello Pegues, who went 8 of 16 en route to 21 points and six boards for Triton. Another player making a difference was Ahmad Morris, who posted eight points and 12 rebounds.

Harnett Central's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Triton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-7.

Harnett Central has already played their next match, an 85-43 win against Hobbton on the 15th. As for Triton, they will take on E.E. Smith at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Triton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully E.E. Smith likes a good challenge.
