Baseball Recap: Lincoln Comes Up Short

Lincoln was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the South Lake Cavaliers. If the Abes were looking for revenge after losing 25-10 to the Cavaliers when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Lincoln's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for South Lake, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 2-5 record.

Looking ahead, Lincoln will head out on the road to challenge Eastpointe at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Shamrocks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.11 runs per game on average), something the Abes will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for South Lake, they will square off against Madison at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Cavaliers surely won't give up without a fight.
