Baseball Game Preview: Glenwood Springs Demons vs. Aspen Skiers

The Glenwood Springs Demons will challenge the Aspen Skiers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in Glenwood Springs' favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Aspen has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

Glenwood Springs lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Rifle, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's matchup. The Demons blew past the Bears 11-1 on Wednesday. Considering the Demons have won four contests by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Josh Doll, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Travis Wagner, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Glenwood Springs hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Aspen's offense. They lost 15-0 to Delta on Tuesday.

Glenwood Springs has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Aspen, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.
